This summer, join us for a special celebration marking 80 fantastic years of our beloved community centre! We’re throwing a Summer Fair & Open Day like no other, packed with fun activities, entertainment, and memories to last a lifetime. This event is not just about looking back at our incredible history—it’s about coming together to celebrate the future of our community!

A Day to Remember, All Are Welcome!
Our Summer Fair is free to attend and open to everyone—whether you’ve been part of our community for years or are new to the area. This year, we’re especially excited to have our honoured Patron Brian Capron who will officially open the event and kick off the celebrations at 10am. It’s a momentous occasion, and we can’t wait to share it with you!
What’s Happening:
- Live Entertainment: Naomi Bedford and Paul Simmonds playing in the garden, performers, and talent shows on the stage in the afternoon, to keep the energy high and the good vibes flowing all day.
- Fun Games: classic fairground games try your skill to win prizes, there’s something for the young and the young-at-heart.
- Workshops

My Southwick Community Centre – free printing workshop just drop in in the garden - Delicious Food & Drink: Sample homemade treats and refreshing drinks from our café and bar. Jug of Pimm’s in the garden?! It’s the perfect way to enjoy a sunny day with family and friends!
- Community Stalls: Browse local arts, crafts, and services—support your neighbours while picking up something unique and special.
- Our Affiliated Groups: will have loads of activities, use you mobile in our little studio, stitch with the Sussex Quilters, add your self-portrait to our drawing wall! Have a go at singing something really simple with Southwick Opera. Join a tour of our backstage areas. Collect ship stamps when you guess the right ship… and much, much more
80 Years Strong: A Legacy of Connection
For 80 years, our community centre has been a place of connection, learning, and support. Providing a safe space for all, it’s been the heart of our neighbourhood. This Summer Fair & Open Day is the perfect opportunity to reflect on our shared history and to look forward to the exciting future we’re building together. There will be exhibitions of images from our archives, come and see if you recognise someone or see how much the buildings have changed in 80 years.
Whether you’ve been a regular visitor for decades or this is your first time stepping through our doors, there’s no better way to experience the vibrant energy of our community.
