We offer a different and alternative type of society to the traditional camera club.

Our emphasis is on in-depth help and advice on the use of your camera and equipment – to understand the practicalities and potential of your equipment so you can achieve the best results.

So rather than focusing on a programme of competitions and external speakers, our approach is to let our members decide what the programme will be, so it can evolve and be tailored to their requirements. Currently we have a balance of:

  • in-house tutorials and demonstrations, where you can gain knowledge both on camera use and photographic techniques (basic and advanced) as well as the post-processing of your images
  • field photographic opportunities, with access to some local venues not generally open to the public
  • guidance from both internal and external photographers, for members who interested in achieving a Royal Photographic Society distinction.

You are very welcome to be part of our society, alongside any other clubs you may belong to, if you are looking for more “hands-on” opportunities to improve your photography and hone your skills.

Meetings

We meet fortnightly at the Centre on Tuesdays – in the Garden Room at 7.30 pm – all year round, except for a break in July and August.  Photographers of all abilities, and with all types of cameras, are most welcome.
